Phebe Dillon Rees

The Society of Friends (Quakers) began in England in the 1650s, when they broke away from the Puritans. Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn, as a safe place for Friends to live and practice their faith.

Phebe Dillon was born on March 23, 1786 in New Garden, Guilford County, North Carolina.

She married John Rees on December 26, 1810 at Newhope Monthly meeting in Greene County, Tennessee. John was the son of William Rees and Charity Dillon. He was born on April 05, 1783 in New Garden, Guilford County North Carolina,.

Phebe and John's children included:

Elizabeth Rees (1813, married William Stanfield),
Charity Rees (1814, married Jesse Wright),
Peter Rees (1816, married Abigail Pierce),
Ann Rees (1817,married Rufus Marsh),
David Rees (1819, married Hannah Hampner),
Jemima Rees (1822, married Townsend Bates).

John died on December 03, 1841 and Phebe died on December 18, 1841 in Newhope, Greene County, Tennessee.
